Don Rutherford – Executive Director

During Don’s tenure at the helm, West Coast has grown from being a small (but powerful) dealership to the UK’s #1 in 2020. He’s been involved in the motorcycle business since starting Scotbike in 1979 and then when the opportunity arose to join West Coast in 2003 he grabbed it with both hands. He has a passion for detail and CXI – or in other words keeping our customers happy! Don is now working with the senior management team at West Coast as our Executive Director and is still very passionate about our business.

David Hackshall – Managing Director

As part of our continued growth, West Coast is delighted to welcome David Hackshall as our Managing Director. David has many years' experience in the industry having run a dealership early in his career before progressing to work for the Motor Company in Oxford, developing their business throughout the UK and Europe. Most recently David was the country manager for Harley-Davidson Canada having held the same role in the UK for almost 9 years.

Derek Muir – Head of Sales

Derek joins West Coast with over 33 years motor industry experience – spanning a range of previous work in the area of sales and operations management. A keen motorcyclist for nearly 40 years, he currently owns two Harley Davidson motorcycles; and can be spotted running in our Triumph demo fleet. His passion is motorcycling and giving customers the best possible experience. Combining each of these passions together at West Coast is his main goal of maintaining our position as a premium retailer.

Ed Thomas – Motorcycle Sales Advisor

Ed joined us in February 2022 having spent 24 years in various motorcycling roles. He's spent many an hour in the saddle as a Motorcycle Riding Instructor and track coach, there's no one better placed to advise you on your next purchase. Ed's not new to Triumph, you can catch him on any DGR ride or around our amazing roads on his Thruxton. 

Rhona Mathison – Finance & Sales Admin Assistant

When the time comes to buy your next motorcycle, you’ll want to make sure everything runs smoothly. Rhona has spent most of her career in the financial sector which means she is very well placed to ensure that every detail is taken care of. Her bubbly and friendly nature certainly keeps our customers very happy during their purchase!

John Weir – Head of Aftersales

You’ve probably heard this on more than occasion – “looking after our customers is of paramount importance to us and we know the value of a great customer experience”. John is a seasoned campaigner in the automotive industry and in particular the Aftersales role. He oversees our full Aftersales Operation and his role is to ensure that we’re focused on delivering a top notch customer experience every time. Since joining the team in June 2015, John has fully submerged himself into the motorcycling way of life and is already on his second motorcycle. John’s role is to ensure his team deliver the highest standards of customer care at West Coast. 

Alan Galloway – Customer Retention Manager

An extremely experienced Motor Industry operator with over 40 years’ experience Alan joined us in 2016. In his illustrious past Alan progressed his career from a Senior Technician, Workshop Controller up into Managerial roles. As he was an enthusiastic motorcyclist we knew we were lucky to gain such an experienced team player. For the past 5 years Alan has been providing excellent customer service to you all as our Head Aftersales Advisor and after a recent reorganisation, Alan was promoted upstairs to take on a brand new role as our Customer Retention Operator. Alan now looks into our database and contacts all customers who require their Servicing and MOT’s booked into our workshops. He also takes all incoming enquiries to the Service Department so you may not see him just quite so much on the showroom floor but call him anytime with any query and he will be delighted to help

Brian Stewart – Aftersales Advisor

Bikes are in his blood. Brian joined us in April 2018 after a long and distinguished career in the motorcycle industry with some well-known companies and worked with Don in the 90’s. As well as unbelievable knowledge Brian has a can do attitude and is more than willing to go that extra mile for anyone. Again totally fitting into the West Coast Way. Such a great asset to the team with his all makes know how… He’s our go to man for any part for any bike and he never lets us down. Last year Brian qualified as a Master of P&A as well as shown his willingness to learn all aspects of the Aftersales Department able to carry out all functions required by the team whether its parts or service.

Dan Flynn – Bike Detailer

Helping us keep our reputation intact for spotless presentation, Dan joined us as a part-time employee in 2018 to help us over the busy season but he proved his worth very quickly and now he’s on the team full time. You’ll see Dan beavering away helping prepare all our pre-owned Motorcycles as well as all the other make part-exchanges we sell in Moto.

Craig Brown – Bike Detailer

Craig joined us in May 2021 having detailed bikes for over 15 years. Craig got his first bike when he was 4, a PW50 and hasn't looked back. As part of the Detailing team, Craig has quite an eye for detail and specialises in paint correction - turning lack lustre paint into a mirror finish.

Agnes Kruger – Motorclothes Lead

Ags became interested in motorcycles in her teens and even saved her student bursary to buy a 125. Ags has worked at various dealerships around Glasgow having started in a Clothing Department as a summer job, twenty years and several motorcycles later, she's worked across many areas of the motorcycle industry, from parts to selling motorcycles. Ag's now continues her career with us at West Coast as Motorclothes Lead.

Elaine Forrest – Admin Assistant

Elaine joined the team in 2015 to assist our Accounting Department, and works in the accounts and invoicing side of the business - also known as "The Brains of the Operation" ! One of the nicest people you'll ever meet, Elaine thinks of others always and does everything and anything she can to help out. You might see her out and about keeping us all in check - we need her to!

Siân Flavell – Marketing and Motorclothes Manager

Siân has been a biker since 2001 and has been in the Motorcycle industry ever since. She started with the Harley-Davidson Brand in 2004 progressing from Accessories consultant to Group Aftersales, Events and Marketing Manager at previous multi-franchise Dealership. Siân joined West Coast in 2019 and you'll see her heading up the Marketing and bringing a wealth of experience to new and interesting events to the calendar - when she's not blasting around the West Coast roads on two wheels. 

Connor Edenborough – Marketing Lead

Connor Joined West Coast in October 2019 as a Marketing Assistant and has progressed to Marketing Lead. It's safe to say there's not a piece of tech or creative that he doesn't know about and when he's not creating content Connor can be found exploring the West Coast on any of our demo motorcycles.

Sean McGill

Joe Gorton

Joe joins West Coast as part of our Accounting Department. Casting a detailed eye over invoicing and management accounts for Triumph. Joe is also skilled in rocking out on guitar and gained his bike licence in 2020. He follows WorldSBK and MotoGP, so it's unsurprising his favourite bike in the Triumph line up is the Street Triple RR.
