DON RUTHERFORD – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Don Rutherford – Executive Director

During Don’s tenure at the helm, West Coast has grown from being a small (but powerful) dealership to the UK’s #1 in 2020. He’s been involved in the motorcycle business since starting Scotbike in 1979 and then when the opportunity arose to join West Coast in 2003 he grabbed it with both hands. He has a passion for detail and CXI – or in other words keeping our customers happy! Don is now working with the senior management team at West Coast as our Executive Director and is still very passionate about our business.

DAVID HACKSHALL – MANAGING DIRECTOR

David Hackshall – Managing Director

As part of our continued growth, West Coast is delighted to welcome David Hackshall as our Managing Director. David has many years' experience in the industry having run a dealership early in his career before progressing to work for the Motor Company in Oxford, developing their business throughout the UK and Europe. Most recently David was the country manager for Harley-Davidson Canada having held the same role in the UK for almost 9 years.

DEREK MUIR – HEAD OF SALES

Derek Muir – Head of Sales

Derek joins West Coast with over 33 years motor industry experience – spanning a range of previous work in the area of sales and operations management. A keen motorcyclist for nearly 40 years, he currently owns two Harley Davidson motorcycles; and can be spotted running in our Triumph demo fleet. His passion is motorcycling and giving customers the best possible experience. Combining each of these passions together at West Coast is his main goal of maintaining our position as a premium retailer.

JOHN WEIR – HEAD OF AFTERSALES

John Weir – Head of Aftersales

You’ve probably heard this on more than occasion – “looking after our customers is of paramount importance to us and we know the value of a great customer experience”. John is a seasoned campaigner in the automotive industry and in particular the Aftersales role. He oversees our full Aftersales Operation and his role is to ensure that we’re focused on delivering a top notch customer experience every time. Since joining the team in June 2015, John has fully submerged himself into the motorcycling way of life and is already on his second motorcycle. John’s role is to ensure his team deliver the highest standards of customer care at West Coast. 

SIÂN FLAVELL – MARKETING MANAGER

Siân Flavell – Marketing Manager

Siân has been a biker since 2001 and has been in the Motorcycle industry ever since. She started with the Harley-Davidson Brand in 2004 progressing from Accessories consultant to Group Aftersales, Events and Marketing Manager at previous multi-franchise Dealership. Siân joined West Coast in 2019 and you'll see her heading up the Marketing and bringing a wealth of experience to new and interesting events to the calendar - when she's not blasting around the West Coast roads on two wheels. 

AGNES KRUGER – MOTORCLOTHES LEAD

Agnes Kruger – Motorclothes Lead

Ags became interested in motorcycles in her teens and even saved her student bursary to buy a 125. Ags has worked at various dealerships around Glasgow having started in a Clothing Department as a summer job, twenty years and several motorcycles later, she's worked across many areas of the motorcycle industry, from parts to selling motorcycles. Ag's now continues her career with us at West Coast as Motorclothes Lead.

ED THOMAS – MOTORCYCLE SALES ADVISOR

Ed Thomas – Motorcycle Sales Advisor

Ed joined us in February 2022 having spent 24 years in various motorcycling roles. He's spent many an hour in the saddle as a Motorcycle Riding Instructor and track coach, there's no one better placed to advise you on your next purchase. Ed's not new to Triumph, you can catch him on any DGR ride or around our amazing roads on his Thruxton. 

SIMON MCDONAGH - MOTORCYCLE SALES LEAD

Simon McDonagh - Motorcycle Sales Lead

Simon joins west coast bringing 27 years experience from the motor industry based in Sales to Divisional operations. A passionately keen motorcyclist, for the last 16 years he's enjoyed a background with sportsbikes and a special love for road racing particularly the TT.  Simon recently purchased an adventure bike and he’s loving the diversity this genre of bike offers.  When not working at West Coast Simon is a freelance photographer specialising in action photography and capturing bikers on the road riding their pride and joy. Simon’s mission is to ensure West Coast Triumph Glasgow is the number one destination for motorcyclists in Scotland.

WILLIAM CAIRNS - MOTORCYCLE SALES ADVISOR

WILLIAM CAIRNS - MOTORCYCLE SALES ADVISOR

William joined the team back in April 2019. He started his career at 16 years old as an apprentice panel beater and rode bikes through this time. He took the plunge in 2002 and sat his test on an RD350 YPVS and progressed through a few different styles of bikes since including a Vespa PX200 which he stills owns. William came to West Coast from the car industry and hasn't looked back.

RHONA MATHISON – FINANCE & SALES ADMIN ASSISTANT

Rhona Mathison – Finance & Sales Admin Assistant

When the time comes to buy your next motorcycle, you’ll want to make sure everything runs smoothly. Rhona has spent most of her career in the financial sector which means she is very well placed to ensure that every detail is taken care of. Her bubbly and friendly nature certainly keeps our customers very happy during their purchase!

Kathryn MOONEY – finance & sales Admin Assistant

A quick learner, Kat is already making an impact in both bike sales admin and talking to our customers about their finance options for both Moto and Harley bike sales.

ALAN GALLOWAY – CUSTOMER RETENTION MANAGER

Alan Galloway – Customer Retention Manager

An extremely experienced Motor Industry operator with over 40 years’ experience Alan joined us in 2016. In his illustrious past Alan progressed his career from a Senior Technician, Workshop Controller up into Managerial roles. As he was an enthusiastic motorcyclist we knew we were lucky to gain such an experienced team player. For the past 5 years Alan has been providing excellent customer service to you all as our Head Aftersales Advisor and after a recent reorganisation, Alan was promoted upstairs to take on a brand new role as our Customer Retention Operator. Alan now looks into our database and contacts all customers who require their Servicing and MOT’s booked into our workshops. He also takes all incoming enquiries to the Service Department so you may not see him just quite so much on the showroom floor but call him anytime with any query and he will be delighted to help

ALAN STORRAR - AFTERSALES LEAD

ALAN STORRAR – Aftersales LEad

Alan has been in the motor industry for 39 years, the last 18 of which have been with a prestige brand starting out as an apprentice and working my way up to Diagnostic Technician with Mercedes Benz and finally running a workshop with 7 tech’s and an apprentice. He has a huge passion for motorcycles which started at a young age which means there are too many bikes to mention.... but 6 of them were Triumphs -  including 5 Street Triple R/RS and a 1050 Tiger. 

Having worked with prestige motor brands Alan has a keen eye for quality and making sure first time fixes are completed in a timely manner. He's been looking forward to working with Triumph which is long overdue in the west coast. 

BRIAN STEWART – AFTERSALES ADVISOR

Brian Stewart – Aftersales Advisor

Bikes are in his blood. Brian joined us in April 2018 after a long and distinguished career in the motorcycle industry with some well-known companies and worked with Don in the 90’s. As well as unbelievable knowledge Brian has a can do attitude and is more than willing to go that extra mile for anyone. Again totally fitting into the West Coast Way. Such a great asset to the team with his all makes know how… He’s our go to man for any part for any bike and he never lets us down. Last year Brian qualified as a Master of P&A as well as shown his willingness to learn all aspects of the Aftersales Department able to carry out all functions required by the team whether its parts or service.

DONALD THOMSON - AFTERSALES ADVISOR

DONALD THOMSON – Aftersales Advisor

Donald started motorcycling from a young age along with his brother. Their first bike was a mini moto side-car, which lead to a flurry of of pit bikes, Quads and Crossers. 

When he left school Donald went straight into work and joined the bike trade starting at a local  motorcycle shop gaining 6 years knowledge. He now brings his experience to West Coast. Donald rides to West Coast most days, his first bike being a DT125, and his current ride is a CBF500.

JAMES SHERIDAN – SENIOR TECHNICIAN

James Sheridan – Senior Technician

Always the inquisitive type with a thirst for knowledge from a very young age, James always had a passion for for anything mechanical and so naturally honed his skills on motorcycles. 

James has a variety of experience with performance brands such as Triumph and Ducati. Having taken a break to impart his detailed mechanical knowledge as a Mechanical Teacher, he couldn't keep his hands off the the tools. As a passionate motorcyclist he's owned a few including Daytona's, Sprints and even a BSA Bantam. 

MAX RITCHIE – TECHNICIAN

Max Ritchie – Technician

Originally from Aberdeen Max gained his bike license in 2015.  In 2019 he moved to Glasgow to start a Mechanical college course and at the same time I started at Triumph Glasgow. He's had triumphs since he passed his test in 2015 and absolutely love them.

When Max isn't working at West Coast he enjoys watching any form of bike racing and even takes to the track from time to time.

JAMIE MCGILL – TECHNICIAN

Jamie McGill – technician

The latest addition to the workshop team, Jamie is always keen to lend a hand and takes great pride in his work. Having earned his bike license in 2019, Jamie now rides a Suzuki Bandit 1250.

Jamie thoroughly enjoys working on a wide variety of motorcycles, and gains a great level of satisfaction when taking on new and interesting challenges. When he isn't on the road or in the workshop, Jamie can be found enjoying quality time with his family.

MARTYN PATTERSON – MOTORCYCLE DETAILER

Martyn patterson – motorcycle detailer

Martyn joined us in June 2022, his hobby has been detailing for over 20 years. Detailing bikes, cars.... even C90's! Martyn's first bike was a ZX6R, but his all time favourite bike is his Suzuki B-King which he's owned since new and it still looks like it just came out the store! Martyn has an affinity for Triumph, and takes pride in keeping his stunning Street Triple in immaculate condition. Martyn has a real passion for rejuvenating motorcycles, and he especially enjoys turning his talents to the current Scrambler range.

SEAN MCGILL – MOTORCYCLE DETAILER

SEAN MCGILL – Motorcycle Detailer

Sean Joined us at West Coast in 2022 as a Motorcycle Detailer. Sean has ridden motorcycles for over 30 years, it was 20 years before he got his bike licence! A keen eye for detail and a passion for all things two wheels, Sean takes pride in detailing the amazing array of bike we see here. He currently rides a Harley-Davidson Fatbob but you can find him trying out a whole host of bikes from our line up. 

DAN FLYNN – MOTORCYCLE DETAILER

Dan Flynn – Motorcycle Detailer

Helping us keep our reputation intact for spotless presentation, Dan joined us as a part-time employee in 2018 to help us over the busy season but he proved his worth very quickly and now he’s on the team full time. You’ll see Dan beavering away helping prepare all our pre-owned Motorcycles as well as all the other make part-exchanges we sell in Moto.

JOE GORTON – ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Joe Gorton – FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Joe joins West Coast as part of our Accounting Department. Casting a detailed eye over invoicing and management accounts for Triumph. Joe is also skilled in rocking out on guitar and gained his bike licence in 2020. He follows WorldSBK and MotoGP, so it's unsurprising his favourite bike in the Triumph line up is the Street Triple RR.

ELAINE FORREST – ADMIN ASSISTANT

Elaine joined the team in 2015 to assist our Accounting Department, and works in the accounts and invoicing side of the business - also known as "The Brains of the Operation" ! One of the nicest people you'll ever meet, Elaine thinks of others always and does everything and anything she can to help out. You might see her out and about keeping us all in check - we need her to!

Connor Edenborough – Marketing Lead

Connor Joined West Coast in October 2019 as a Marketing Assistant and has progressed to Marketing Lead. It's safe to say there's not a piece of tech or creative that he doesn't know about and when he's not creating content Connor can be found exploring the West Coast on any of our demo motorcycles.

KATHRYN RUSSELL – FINANCE & SALES ADMIN ASSISTANT

Callum Rodger – Marketing Assistant

Callum joined West Coast in September 2022, and helps out with a variety of roles within the marketing department. From bike photography to promotional videos, Cal enjoys his work and is always happy to lend a hand.

An avid car and bike enthusiast, Cal has an interest in most things with wheels and an engine. He recently completed his CBT, and now rides a KTM Duke 125 - although sometimes you can find him on his '63 Lambretta Li150.
