During Don’s tenure at the helm, West Coast has grown from being a small (but powerful) dealership to the UK’s #1 in 2020. He’s been involved in the motorcycle business since starting Scotbike in 1979 and then when the opportunity arose to join West Coast in 2003 he grabbed it with both hands. He has a passion for detail and CXI – or in other words keeping our customers happy! Don is now working with the senior management team at West Coast as our Executive Director and is still very passionate about our business.
As part of our continued growth, West Coast is delighted to welcome David Hackshall as our Managing Director. David has many years' experience in the industry having run a dealership early in his career before progressing to work for the Motor Company in Oxford, developing their business throughout the UK and Europe. Most recently David was the country manager for Harley-Davidson Canada having held the same role in the UK for almost 9 years.
Derek joins West Coast with over 33 years motor industry experience – spanning a range of previous work in the area of sales and operations management. A keen motorcyclist for nearly 40 years, he currently owns two Harley Davidson motorcycles; and can be spotted running in our Triumph demo fleet. His passion is motorcycling and giving customers the best possible experience. Combining each of these passions together at West Coast is his main goal of maintaining our position as a premium retailer.
You’ve probably heard this on more than occasion – “looking after our customers is of paramount importance to us and we know the value of a great customer experience”. John is a seasoned campaigner in the automotive industry and in particular the Aftersales role. He oversees our full Aftersales Operation and his role is to ensure that we’re focused on delivering a top notch customer experience every time. Since joining the team in June 2015, John has fully submerged himself into the motorcycling way of life and is already on his second motorcycle. John’s role is to ensure his team deliver the highest standards of customer care at West Coast.
Donald started motorcycling from a young age along with his brother. Their first bike was a mini moto side-car, which lead to a flurry of of pit bikes, Quads and Crossers.
When he left school Donald went straight into work and joined the bike trade starting at a local motorcycle shop gaining 6 years knowledge. He now brings his experience to West Coast. Donald rides to West Coast most days, his first bike being a DT125, and his current ride is a CBF500.
Siân has been a biker since 2001 and has been in the Motorcycle industry ever since. She started with the Harley-Davidson Brand in 2004 progressing from Accessories consultant to Group Aftersales, Events and Marketing Manager at previous multi-franchise Dealership. Siân joined West Coast in 2019 and you'll see her heading up the Marketing and bringing a wealth of experience to new and interesting events to the calendar - when she's not blasting around the West Coast roads on two wheels.
Simon joins west coast bringing 27 years experience from the motor industry based in Sales to Divisional operations. A passionately keen motorcyclist, for the last 16 years he's enjoyed a background with sportsbikes and a special love for road racing particularly the TT. Simon recently purchased an adventure bike and he’s loving the diversity this genre of bike offers. When not working at West Coast Simon is a freelance photographer specialising in action photography and capturing bikers on the road riding their pride and joy. Simon’s mission is to ensure West Coast Triumph Glasgow is the number one destination for motorcyclists in Scotland.
Ed joined us in February 2022 having spent 24 years in various motorcycling roles. He's spent many an hour in the saddle as a Motorcycle Riding Instructor and track coach, there's no one better placed to advise you on your next purchase. Ed's not new to Triumph, you can catch him on any DGR ride or around our amazing roads on his Thruxton.
William joined the team back in April 2019. He started his career at 16 years old as an apprentice panel beater and rode bikes through this time. He took the plunge in 2002 and sat his test on an RD350 YPVS and progressed through a few different styles of bikes since including a Vespa PX200 which he stills owns. William came to West Coast from the car industry and hasn't looked back.
Ags became interested in motorcycles in her teens and even saved her student bursary to buy a 125. Ags has worked at various dealerships around Glasgow having started in a Clothing Department as a summer job, twenty years and several motorcycles later, she's worked across many areas of the motorcycle industry, from parts to selling motorcycles. Ag's now continues her career with us at West Coast as Motorclothes Lead.
A quick learner, Kat is already making an impact in both bike sales admin and talking to our customers about their finance options for both Moto and Harley bike sales.
Bikes are in his blood. Brian joined us in April 2018 after a long and distinguished career in the motorcycle industry with some well-known companies and worked with Don in the 90’s. As well as unbelievable knowledge Brian has a can do attitude and is more than willing to go that extra mile for anyone. Again totally fitting into the West Coast Way. Such a great asset to the team with his all makes know how… He’s our go to man for any part for any bike and he never lets us down. Last year Brian qualified as a Master of P&A as well as shown his willingness to learn all aspects of the Aftersales Department able to carry out all functions required by the team whether its parts or service.
When it came to adding to our Aftersales Operations Team we interviewed many people. Charley was the stand out candidate from the first interview. A very mature and professional young person with an ability to get the job done. In her previous job Charley worked with ‘Disney’ and we now get the benefit of that great attention to customer care at West Coast Triumph Glasgow. Charley will be the voice you hear when you get that call when your motorcycle is due for a routine service, or when she follows you up to make sure your experience was 10 out of 10. A lovely person to be around, please make sure you say Hello when you see her in the dealership.
What an asset this man has been since joining the Team in May 2023. Such a wonderful attitude to being a Team player, helping anyone whilst ensuring his own work is on the money. Its fare to say that Tom has started his Technician dream a little later than most but you’d never know that with his dedication and capabilities in the workshop. A natural leader who will take on any job and make sure its done Right First Time. A fully qualified MOT Tester and another Team member who will soon be at the highest recognized level of GOLD Technician status by the end of 2024.
His favourite bike is KAWASAKI Z1100 LTD But his favourite Triumph to work on and to ride is a TIGER 900
Brian has been working as a Motorcycle Technician for over 10 years now and we were delighted to get him on board in Nov 2022. We nearly got him a year earlier but it took a little longer for the stars to align and eventually Brian became an integral part of The Aftersales Team. Not only has Brian been a Technician he has had experience of running workshops operationally at that has a great benefit to his understanding on Customer Care. He always wants to get it Right First Time. He is already fully up to date with all his Manufacturers Training and we fully expect him to be a fully qualified GOLD Triumph Technician by the end of this year.
His favourite bike is A DUCATI DIAVEL His favourite Triumph to work on is T120 But his favourite Triumph to ride is a SPEED TWIN 1200
Always smiling, always happy to help and first with his hand up when something needs done. Quote from John Weir Aftersales Director “One of the best attitudes of any employee I have encountered in all my years in the trade”. Bradley joined us in March 2024 after spending years developing his career with other brands. A fully qualified Technician and MOT Tester he is already in the position to advance onto GOLD Technician status having worked out hours to complete in full all his Triumph Manufacturers Training. This guy will go far!

Our latest addition to the Workshop Team and it’s been a long time coming. Mark has been on the fringes of West Coast for a little while now and although he only joined us in May this year (2024) it already feels like he’s been here for much longer. He has settled in so well to the Team. A lifelong biker Mark has worked in a few different places in his Technician journey and brings a wealth of experience to the Workshop Team. He currently owns a KTM 1090 Adventure & a Honda X4 using the latter to travel into work every day, no matter the weather, now that’s dedication in the West of Scotland. He is already up and running with his Triumph Training and we very much look forward to helping Mark attain his GOLD Level Triumph Technician
His favourite bike is a tough one as Mark loves a Tiger 1200, but also loves his KTM 1290 Super Adventure. His favourite Triumph to work on is T120 but just loves a ride out on a Tiger 1200.
Connor Joined West Coast in October 2019 as a Marketing Assistant and has progressed to Marketing Lead. It's safe to say there's not a piece of tech or creative that he doesn't know about and when he's not creating content Connor can be found exploring the West Coast on any of our demo motorcycles.

Martyn joined us in June 2022, his hobby has been detailing for over 20 years. Detailing bikes, cars.... even C90's! Martyn's first bike was a ZX6R, but his all time favourite bike is his Suzuki B-King which he's owned since new and it still looks like it just came out the store! Martyn has an affinity for Triumph, and takes pride in keeping his stunning Street Triple in immaculate condition. Martyn has a real passion for rejuvenating motorcycles, and he especially enjoys turning his talents to the current Scrambler range.
Helping us keep our reputation intact for spotless presentation, Dan joined us as a part-time employee in 2018 to help us over the busy season but he proved his worth very quickly and now he’s on the team full time. You’ll see Dan beavering away helping prepare all our pre-owned Motorcycles as well as all the other make part-exchanges we sell in Moto.
Joe joins West Coast as part of our Accounting Department. Casting a detailed eye over invoicing and management accounts for Triumph. Joe is also skilled in rocking out on guitar and gained his bike licence in 2020. He follows WorldSBK and MotoGP, so it's unsurprising his favourite bike in the Triumph line up is the Street Triple RR.
Elaine joined the team in 2015 to assist our Accounting Department, and works in the accounts and invoicing side of the business - also known as "The Brains of the Operation" ! One of the nicest people you'll ever meet, Elaine thinks of others always and does everything and anything she can to help out. You might see her out and about keeping us all in check - we need her to!
